Christmas in the Alpes Mancelles

I love this time of year. I'd love to spend my time in front of the TV by the fire, wrapped up in a cosy blanket and drinking a nice hot chocolate. Having my family round to talk, play board games and cook....

But above all, to decorate the house like in the movies. I see red, green and gold everywhere!

"Merry Christmas! Long live the wind! Little Father Noel! Yippee.... Gifts by the thousand..."

Oops, that's right, I've got to stop believing !!!!

In short, I'm taking advantage of this time to add a little colour to the gîtes. The decor is changing and the advantage is that it's different from one year to the next.

One year it will be a natural Christmas tree, another year a pallet, then another with an artificial tree. One year there will be an open fire on arrival, another year little hand-held kettles as gifts... Sometimes even the outside is decorated.

In Saint-Léonard-des-Bois, the town is also decked out for Christmas with the Festival of Light. The church square, the town hall and the whole village are illuminated...

The friends of the village are doing an incredible job to make our village worthy of a

santa's whirlwind tour. It's easy to imagine that Santa's reindeer might even stop off at the animal park that's so well known in our region!
